SOUTHWEST FLORIDA EVENTSMAY, 2013 WED. May 15 ~ Cyclists of all levels are invited to take part in the worldwide Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. in Fort Myers. The silence will honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Assemble at Centennial Park under the bridge near Heitman Street and Bay Street at 6:45 for the 7 p.m. start time. The eight-mile event is free, helmets required. THURS. May 16 ~ The Spring Concert for the Charlotte County Youth Chorus at the Cultural Center’s Conference Center on Thursday evening, at 7:00 P.M. Admission is free, and the public is invited. 2280 Aaron St in Port Charlotte. Refreshments will be served following the concert. FRI. May 17 ~ "Arts On The Avenue" at Coconut Point on Fashion Drive from 6 - 9 PM. Local artists will display a variety of mediums, from sculptures to painters, to photographers, and musicians, weather permitting. Coconut Point Mall in Estero, Free. SAT. May 18 ~ Salvation Army Concert in Cambier Park in Naples from 2pm - 4pm. SUNDAY May 19 ~ FREE Community Day at Artis-Naples from noon to 4pm. Experience the Naples Philharmonic open rehearsal, and free Museum admission. Take part in a treasure hunt! Also raffle prizes, T-Shirts, balloons, face painting, dancing, and Folk Art. More info here. May 25 ~ Farmers Market at Cape Harbour. Succulent fruits, garden-fresh vegetables, honey and homemade breads and desserts and more.
